Now We are Six {Ft. Pierce, FL Children’s Portraits}

I am so excited to be home! I never really realized how much I actually missed living in Florida. The weather is awesome, and it just feels right being here. I always thought I loved Missouri becuase the seasons changed drastically, and there was snow. That was cool until I learned how to drive, and now, not so much. Probably the most notable visit for me was last year when we visited in January. Being here in fabulous 60 degree weather, and having to go back home to whatever below zero, and depressing gray skies, made me remember how awesome this state is! I am so glad that I get to raise my daughter here! She is absolutely adapting to being a “Florida Girl!” She knows the difference between regular flip flops and dress flip flops, and she is amazed that we wake up to storks outside our front yard every morning (it must be where they relax after dropping off the babies.) Okay, enough babel, I had a purpose with this! Right before we left to head to Missouri to pack up the last of our stuff, Bella and I headed out for a photoshoot at the Ft. Pierce marina. We were going to do some photos with gelato from Uncle Carlo’s, buuttt…..we were distracted by dolphins and the gelato started to melt while we watched (I got some pictures of the fins, but they never came out of the water.) Bella went ahead and ate the gelato while we waited, so…maybe next time. We still managed to get some fab. stuff! My little fashionista is getting so grown up! Now, on the the photos!

Brett {Rock Star Two-Year-Old}

Last week I got the chance to photograph Brett and his awesome big sister Ella for Brett’s second birthday. We had a blast hanging out in the Crossroads and Unity Village. Both places provided some fabulous backdrops! Can I just say, I LOVE shooting on location!!! These two kids were so adorable, and their mom totally rocks! It was such a pleasure to capture this fun time in their lives! Thanks for being so cool!!!

Bella Turns Five! {My Baby’s Rock Star Kids Session}

Well, technically, she turned five in December, but we finally got a chance to do her photoshoot the other day! We’ve been waiting and waiting for the weather to be nice to us, and it finally happened. YAY! While visiting my mom in Springfield, and before another photoshoot, I actually had some time to shoot my own kid! sIt is so crazy that this is my baby. She is getting so big, and she is so grown up! It is becoming obvious she is really learning her way around a photoshoot. During the whole hour and a half I we were shooting, she was making up her own poses and coming up with her own shots! She’s becoming quite the little model and stylist, as she has definate ideas about what she was going to wear. I better shut up now, before I get all teary eyed and cry all over my laptop!

New Model Program!

I am introducing a model program that I will run through the month of April. This is to help me build a new portfolio, as I have spent the last two years working for another photographer and haven’t shot much of my own stuff. So, if you are needing some family, senior or children’s portraits, or know anyone who needs them but may not be able to afford them, PLEASE send them my way! I would also love to work with current or aspiring models/actors to help build their books as well. In addition I will be willing to discount 1-2 wedding packages for some smaller weddings in the KC area. Just give me a call or send me an email, and I would love to talk to you about these awesome opportunities!

Okay, so I am officially christening my new blog with some brand new pictures of the love of my life….my four-year-old. The weather was finally nice enough to take her new white dress and brown cowGIRL (as opposed to the highly offensive, cowBOY boots), out for a spin! I love taking pictures of that kid! Enjoy!
